Digital Home Manual ("DHM," "we," "us") is operated by Digital Home Manual LLC, North Carolina . This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email us at admin@digitalhomemanual.com and we'll answer plainly.
What you upload stays yours-we do not sell your data-upload only what you feel comfortable uploading
The core of Digital Home Manual is the content you put into it: photos and videos of your property, scans and photos of warranties, manuals, receipts and contracts, room and materials details, maintenance schedules, and the contact details of tradespeople you choose to save. We call this Your Content.
Your Content belongs to you. We do not sell it. We do not license it to third parties. We do not use it to train artificial intelligence models. We do not share it with advertisers, insurers, real estate companies, or data brokers.
What we collect
Information you give us: your name and email address when you create an account; your property details and everything else you choose to upload; and any message you send us through the contact form or by email.
Payment information: subscriptions are processed by Stripe, which handles your card details directly. We never see or store your full card number. We receive only your subscription status, plan, and the last four digits of the card for billing reference.
Information collected automatically: basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you visit, used to keep the service running securely and to understand which features get used.
How we use it
We use your information to operate your account, store and display Your Content back to you, send the maintenance reminders you have set up, process payments and renewals, respond to support requests, keep the service secure, and send you product updates and tips if you have asked to receive them.
We do not use Your Content for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we need in order to run DHM — our hosting and storage provider, our payment processor, and our email provider. Each is bound to handle your information only on our instructions.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to by a valid court order or legal process, or where necessary to protect someone's safety. If that ever happens and we are permitted to tell you, we will.
Security
Your Content is stored encrypted. Access is restricted to the account holder and anyone you deliberately grant access to. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you promptly and tell you what was affected. Please only store data you feel comfortable uploading, we do not suggest you put your home codes, safe codes, property codes.
Handing over a property
DHM includes a handover feature that lets you transfer a property's manual to another person — a buyer, a property manager, a family member. When you use it, you are choosing to give that person access to the content in that property record. Review what's in it before you transfer. Once transferred, we cannot un-transfer it for you.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep Your Content for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual items at any time from inside the app.
If you cancel, we retain your data for 60 days so you can reactivate without losing anything, then permanently delete it. If you want it deleted immediately instead, email admin@digitalhomemanual.com and we will do it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct anything wrong, export your data, or delete your account and its contents. Email admin@digitalhomemanual.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are in California, you have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, you also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary to keep you logged in and to keep the site working, and basic analytics to understand which pages get used.
Children
Digital Home Manual is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that meaningfully affects you, we will email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
